Brief Academic Achievements :

Prof. Dr. Rajaram Gurav is a Senior Professor in the Department of Botany at Shivaji University, Kolhapur. His work covers plant taxonomy, orchidology, biodiversity conservation, and plant tissue culture, with a focus on the flora of the Western Ghats, especially Commelinaceae and the orchids of the Western Ghats.

His doctoral research dealt with orchids of the Western Ghats. He has published research papers, book chapters, and taxonomic accounts, guided M.Phil. and Ph.D. students, and coordinated conservation projects on rare, endemic, and threatened plant species. He is a Fellow of the Indian Association for Angiosperm Taxonomy (FIAAT).
